The article covers the core flaw shared by token-based systems: an iButton or RFID card proves a token is in the vehicle. It says nothing about who is driving. Tokens get lost, left at home, and — critically — shared between drivers.
A PIN keypad resolves this. The driver enters a unique PIN directly into the keypad — no token to lose, share, or forget.
