Teltonika TAT100 GPS asset tracker

Teltonika TAT100 — Proven 2G IP68 Asset Tracker with 3-Year Battery and BLE 5.0

The Teltonika TAT100 is the original asset tracker in Teltonika's TAT family — one of the most widely deployed and trusted asset tracking devices in the world. Compact, robust and easy to install, the TAT100 is purpose-built for tracking non-powered assets across a vast range of industries — from semi-trailers, containers and construction equipment to valuable goods, tools, wire reels, waste containers, scissor lifts, caravans, jet skis and much more.

With up to 3 years of battery life from its replaceable 2,200mAh Lithium-Thionyl Chloride battery, IP68 waterproof protection, BLE 5.0 for wireless sensor connectivity and four versatile mounting options including magnetic, the TAT100 requires no wiring, no external power and no specialist installation knowledge — making it one of the most deployable trackers available for non-powered asset management. GNSS and LBS dual positioning ensures location data is available both outdoors via GPS and indoors via cell tower triangulation, and full compatibility with Teltonika EYE Sensors and EYE Beacons extends its monitoring capability to temperature, humidity, door status and movement detection without additional wiring.

As an official Teltonika distributor in the UK, Tracking Hardware UK ships the TAT100 directly from our London warehouse — with trade pricing available for telematics service providers, fleet operators and resellers.

Key Features

  • Up to 3 years battery life — replaceable 2,200mAh Lithium-Thionyl Chloride non-rechargeable battery delivers up to 3 years of operation at one record per day — swappable in the field without returning the device

  • IP68 waterproof and dustproof — fully sealed robust enclosure for reliable operation in extreme weather conditions, construction sites, container yards and all harsh outdoor environments

  • BLE 5.0 — latest generation Bluetooth Low Energy for connecting Teltonika EYE Sensors and EYE Beacons for temperature, humidity, door open and close, movement and indoor tracking without additional wiring

  • GNSS and LBS dual positioning — GPS for accurate outdoor satellite tracking and LBS cell tower positioning for indoor and building tracking where GPS signals are unavailable

  • Enhanced tamper detection — immediately detects and alerts when the device is removed from the asset it is protecting

  • Accelerometer wake-up — automatically wakes the device from sleep when movement is detected for efficient power management

  • Recovery mode — activates frequent location reporting when theft is detected for rapid asset recovery

  • Movement detection — detects when assets start and stop moving for event-based reporting and anti-theft alerts

  • Scheduled tracking — configurable tracking by specific times and days with time zone support for tailored monitoring scenarios

  • Backup tracking — can operate alongside Teltonika vehicle trackers as a backup tracker for additional security

  • Static navigation — prevents false location updates when the asset is stationary for improved tracking accuracy

  • Four mounting options — magnetic holder, self-adhesive, zip ties and screws for flexible installation on virtually any asset type and surface material

  • Compact and robust form factor — small, practical and easy to conceal on any asset

  • OTA updates — remote firmware and configuration management via FOTA Web

TAT100 vs TAT140 vs TAT240 — Which Should You Choose?

The TAT100 is Teltonika's established 2G asset tracker — cost-effective, proven and ideal for deployments where 2G coverage is reliable and 4G connectivity is not required. The TAT140 upgrades to 4G LTE Cat 1 for faster data and worldwide coverage — the recommended choice for most new UK and European deployments. The TAT240 adds magnetic tamper detection for immediate removal alerts and uses LTE Cat 1 — best suited when tamper alerting is the priority. For new long-term deployments we recommend the TAT140. The TAT100 remains an excellent cost-effective choice for large-scale 2G deployments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the TAT100 battery last?

The TAT100 delivers up to 3 years of battery life or up to 1,000 records at one record per day. Actual battery life depends on reporting frequency, temperature, signal strength and enabled features. The battery is replaceable in the field.

What is LBS tracking and when does it help?

LBS — Location-Based Service — uses nearby mobile network towers to calculate the device's approximate location when GPS satellite signals are unavailable — such as inside warehouses, buildings or underground environments. The TAT100 automatically switches between GNSS and LBS to maintain continuous location data throughout the asset's journey.

Is the TAT100 still relevant with 2G networks?

The TAT100 remains an excellent cost-effective choice for asset tracking where 2G coverage is reliable and 4G connectivity is not required. For future-proof 4G deployments or international tracking, the TAT140 with LTE Cat 1 is the recommended upgrade.

Can I use EYE Sensors with the TAT100?

Yes — the TAT100 is fully compatible with Teltonika EYE Sensors and EYE Beacons via BLE 5.0, enabling temperature, humidity, door status and movement monitoring alongside GPS location without any additional wiring.

Can I buy the TAT100 in bulk from Tracking Hardware UK?

Yes — we supply telematics service providers, fleet operators and resellers across the UK and internationally. Volume pricing and trade accounts are available. Contact us for a bulk quote.

Does the TAT100 support driver identification?

The TAT100 is a long-life battery asset tracker with no external wiring, so driver identification keypads do not apply to it. For the vehicles in your fleet, pair a wired tracker such as the Teltonika FMB920 or FMC130 with an iButton, RFID or BLE driver identification keypad — Tracking Hardware UK supplies both.
