Teltonika FMB020 — 2G OBD Tracker with External Antenna Support
The Teltonika FMB020 is an OBD-II plug-and-play 2G GPS tracker built for deployments where antenna placement matters. Unlike the FMB010, it features external GNSS and GSM antenna connectors, making it well-suited for vehicles with metallised windscreens, underground car parks or environments with poor signal penetration. It reads comprehensive OBD-II vehicle data, supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE for BLE sensor connectivity, and provides two digital outputs for peripheral control. The FMB020 is the right choice when the convenience of OBD installation needs to be combined with reliable antenna performance.
Key Features
External antenna connectors — dedicated GNSS and GSM SMA antenna ports for optimal signal in challenging environments
OBD-II plug-and-play — connects directly to the OBD-II port, powered by the vehicle with no additional wiring
Comprehensive OBD-II data — reads odometer, fuel level, RPM, engine temperature, coolant temperature and fault codes from OEM vehicle systems
2G quad-band GSM/GPRS — worldwide cellular coverage with fallback network selection
Bluetooth 4.0 LE — connects to BLE sensors and Teltonika EYE accessories for temperature, driver ID and wireless monitoring
Two digital outputs — enables peripheral control such as buzzer, alarm light or door lock via OBD connector
One digital input — connects to ignition signal or door sensor for event-triggered tracking
Crash detection — built-in accelerometer for impact alerts and harsh driving event logging
Geofencing and over-speeding — configurable zone and speed threshold alerts
Remote configuration — OTA firmware updates and remote configuration via FOTA Web

Underground car parks and city centre parking structures requiring external antenna placement for reliable fix acquisition
Rental and leasing fleets with high vehicle turnover — plug-and-play installation with external antenna routing
Company car and pool vehicle monitoring with precise positioning in urban canyons and multi-storey car parks
LCV and light commercial fleet management where antenna placement improves reliability in metallic-bodied vehicles
Insurance telematics programmes requiring verified OBD data and accurate GNSS position in challenging environments
Driver behaviour scoring and coaching using speed, RPM and harsh-event data from the OBD port
Stolen vehicle recovery in dense urban areas where signal penetration is reduced
Peripheral control applications using the dual digital outputs — buzzer alerts, door notifications or accessory switching
Temporary and short-term fleet deployments requiring fast installation with no permanent wiring
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the FMB010 and FMB020?
Both devices plug into the OBD-II port and read vehicle data, but the FMB020 adds external SMA antenna connectors for both GNSS and GSM. This means the FMB020 can be used in vehicles with metallised windscreens or in environments with poor signal penetration where the FMB010's internal antennas would struggle. The FMB020 also provides two digital outputs versus one on the FMB010.
Does the FMB020 require any installation or wiring?
The FMB020 plugs directly into the OBD-II port and is powered by the vehicle with no additional wiring. If you use the external antenna connectors, you will need to route antenna cables from the OBD port area to the windscreen or exterior, which takes a few minutes but requires no permanent modification to the vehicle.
What can the two digital outputs on the FMB020 be used for?
The digital outputs can trigger peripherals such as a buzzer for driver alerts, an LED indicator, a relay for accessory control, or a door lock signal. They are configurable via Teltonika Configurator and can be triggered by geofence events, speed thresholds, ignition state changes or other configurable conditions.
Is the FMB020 compatible with the Tracking Hardware UK driver identification keypad?
The FMB020 does not include a 1-Wire or RS232 interface through its OBD connector, so it is not compatible with the 1-Wire driver identification keypad. For OBD-connected vehicles requiring driver ID, contact us for advice — wired Teltonika devices such as the FMB120 or FMB140 support full 1-Wire driver identification.
Can I buy the FMB020 in bulk from Tracking Hardware UK?
Yes — we supply telematics service providers, fleet operators and resellers across the UK and internationally. Volume pricing and trade accounts are available. Contact us for a bulk quote.
