TopFlyTech SolarX 110 — Compact Solar-Powered LTE Cat 1 Asset Tracker for Containers, Trailers and Outdoor Equipment
The TopFlyTech SolarX 110 is a solar-powered LTE Cat 1 asset tracker designed for long-term outdoor deployment on containers, trailers, and industrial equipment where mains or vehicle power is unavailable. Its integrated solar panel continuously recharges a 2,500 mAh Li-Polymer battery, delivering months of operation without manual charging and indefinite runtime under normal outdoor sunlight. At just 150g and compact enough to mount discreetly, it combines lightweight design with rugged IP67-rated construction and ATEX certification for safe use in hazardous environments. Available from UK stock, dispatched from our London warehouse.
Overview
The SolarX 110 connects via LTE Cat 1 with GSM fallback across a wide range of international frequency bands, providing reliable coverage across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and beyond. Multi-constellation GNSS — GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS with SBAS — delivers position accuracy under 1.5 metres CEP, with a cold start time under 20 seconds and hot start under 2 seconds.
Real-time location updates can be set as frequently as every 3 seconds, and up to 60,000 location points are stored in the internal buffer when the device is out of network coverage, with automatic upload on reconnection. Reporting can also be triggered by angle change or distance travelled in addition to time-based intervals, giving precise event-driven tracking for assets in transit.
Key Features
Solar Powered with Long-Life Battery — Integrated solar panel continuously recharges the 2,500 mAh Li-Polymer battery. Battery alone lasts up to 100 days at 30-minute reporting or 45 days at 5-minute reporting, with indefinite runtime under adequate sunlight.
Real-Time and Buffered Location — Location updates as frequent as every 3 seconds. Up to 60,000 points stored in buffer when out of network coverage, uploaded automatically on reconnection.
IP67 Waterproof and Dustproof — Tested in a 5-metre water pressure environment for 15 hours. Fully sealed for permanent outdoor mounting on containers, trailers, and plant equipment in all weather conditions.
ATEX Certified — Certified safe for use in hazardous and potentially explosive environments, making it suitable for oil and gas, chemical, and mining applications where standard trackers cannot be deployed.
BLE 5.3 Sensor Compatibility — Works with TopFlyTech's T-Sense temperature and door sensor and TSTH1-B temperature and humidity sensor for cold chain monitoring and cargo door status tracking.
Removal Alerts — Hall switch detects when the device is removed from the asset and sends an immediate tamper alert to the server.
Movement Alerts — Configurable alerts triggered on asset moving and parking events for immediate notification of unscheduled activity.
Geofencing — Supports up to 64 internal geofence zones with entry and exit alerting.
31 Alarm Types — Comprehensive alarm support covering movement, removal, geofence, low battery, and more.
Easy No-Wire Installation — Mounts via magnet, screw, or double-sided tape. Configured via USB Type-C. No vehicle wiring or specialist tools required.
FOTA Support — Remote firmware updates keep the device current without on-site visits.
SolarX 110 vs SolarX 120 — Which Should You Choose?
Both the SolarX 110 and SolarX 120 are solar-powered LTE Cat 1 asset trackers sharing the same core feature set — solar charging, IP67 waterproofing, BLE sensor support, removal alerts, and geofencing. The key differences are size, battery capacity, and buffer storage. The SolarX 110 is the more compact and lightweight option (150g, 88 × 60.4 × 30.7 mm) with a 2,500 mAh battery and 60,000-point buffer, suited to assets where a smaller footprint matters. The SolarX 120 is physically larger with a bigger battery and buffer capacity, suited to deployments where maximum energy storage and data retention are the priority. If compactness and discreet mounting are important, choose the SolarX 110. If extended autonomy without sunlight is the priority, the SolarX 120 is the better fit.
Compatible BLE Accessories
The SolarX 110 works seamlessly with TopFlyTech's BLE IoT accessories to extend monitoring capability:
T-Sense — BLE 5.1 combined temperature and door status sensor for container and cargo door monitoring.
TSTH1-B — BLE 5.0 temperature and humidity sensor for cold chain and refrigerated cargo applications.
TSR1-B — BLE 5.0 wireless relay for remote output control.
T-Button — BLE key fob and panic button for driver or lone-worker safety.
T-Relay — BLE 5.2 hardwired relay for vehicle or equipment control.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the battery last without sunlight?
The 2,500 mAh battery lasts up to 100 days at 30-minute reporting intervals and approximately 45 days at 5-minute intervals without any solar input. In normal outdoor conditions with regular sunlight, the solar panel sustains the device indefinitely.
Is the SolarX 110 safe to use in hazardous environments?
Yes. The SolarX 110 carries ATEX certification, making it approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres such as oil and gas facilities, chemical plants, and mining environments.
Is it fully waterproof?
Yes. IP67 rated, tested in a 5-metre water pressure environment for 15 hours. Suitable for permanent outdoor mounting in all weather conditions.
What happens if the device is removed from the asset?
A hall switch detects removal and sends an immediate tamper alert to the monitoring server.
Can it monitor temperature and door status?
Yes. Via BLE 5.3 it works with the T-Sense temperature and door sensor and the TSTH1-B temperature and humidity sensor, enabling cold chain and cargo monitoring without additional wiring.
Does it store data when out of signal coverage?
Yes. Up to 60,000 location points are saved in the internal buffer when out of coverage and uploaded automatically when connectivity is restored.
How is the SolarX 110 installed?
It mounts via magnet, screw, or double-sided tape — no vehicle wiring or specialist tools required. Configuration is via USB Type-C.
